2007 Chevy Colorado

Here is the new Colorado just hours after it was picked up.

When I met my girlfriend Sarah she was a truck girl. She was driving a Ford Ranger that was a hand-me-down from her dad. It had hit a deer and a few other things, so in the spring of 2005 she bought a used Aveo. It was a good car, but two years and 42,000 miles later she was wanting a truck again.

One night she and one of her buddies were driving around checking out new trucks and she saw some Colorados she liked. One thing led to another and within a few days she was test driving one. I knew then she'd be getting one. She ended up buying one from John Jones Chevrolet in Salem, Indiana. They found one in Kentucky that had all the options she wanted:

- 5 cylinder engine
- Automatic transmission
- Dark blue metallic paint w/dark pewter interior
- Tow hooks
- Limited slip differential
- Tinted glass
- Full sized spare
- Sport appearance package (side steps, mud flaps, fog lights, body molding)

The only option missing was the tow package but I could put that on. They had one with leather interior, Z71 package, moonroof, blingy wheels, etc...very nice, but very $$$. This one had all the 'good' options.

Click the above picture to see why she's holding a "No Jeep" sign and why she bought a Chevy instead of a Dodge Dakota.

Spring 2008 - $4/gallon gas prices sounded the death knell for the Colorado. My girlfriend traded it for a diesel Beetle.
